HYBLA VALLEY, VA – Da die Restaurantinspektionsberichte des Fairfax County Health Department wieder online sind, prüfen wir weiterhin Berichte im Route 1-Korridor.

Das Umweltgesundheitspersonal des Gesundheitsministeriums inspiziert über 5.200 Restaurants und andere Lebensmitteleinzelhandelsbetriebe im Fairfax County und in den Städten Falls Church und Fairfax, um sicherzustellen, dass sichere Praktiken beim Umgang mit Lebensmitteln eingehalten werden. Dazu gehören ordnungsgemäße Hygiene, Lagerung und Zubereitung von Lebensmitteln sowie angemessene Kücheneinrichtungen. Neben Restaurants inspizieren die Mitarbeiter auch Kindertagesstätten, Krankenhäuser, Schulkantinen und temporäre Lebensmittelverkäufer auf Festivals.

Bewohner können nach einem bestimmten Restaurant suchen oder in der Online-Datenbank eine Karte der inspizierten Orte durchsuchen.

Das Gesundheitsamt weist die Bewohner darauf hin, dass eine einzelne Inspektion nicht zur Bewertung eines Restaurants herangezogen werden sollte. Pieter Sheehan, Direktor für Umweltgesundheit im Fairfax County, sagt: „Es ist wichtig, sich mehrere Inspektionsberichte anzusehen, damit eine Einrichtung ihren Ansatz und ihr Engagement für Lebensmittelsicherheit und Hygiene wirklich versteht.“

Der Bericht dieser Woche konzentriert sich auf Restaurants in Hybla Valley, Mount Vernon und Woodlawn im Mai, Juni und Juli. Einer der bemerkenswerten Berichte betraf tote Kakerlaken, die bei Ledo Pizza gefunden wurden. Gesundheitsinspektoren forderten das Restaurant auf, tote Insekten nach der Schädlingsbekämpfung zu entfernen und bei einer Nachkontrolle einen Reinigungsnachweis vorzulegen.
